Shannon Delavan '95 writes that she and her young son Sean returned to live in Leavenworth in 2006. She continues to work on her MBA in Finance at the University of St. Mary. She married John Todd, career Army, on St. Patrick's Day in 2008. After John's retirement in November the family will be moving to Searcy, Arkansas. They are expecting another addition to the family next March. (9/08) Three Carmelite priests returned to Leavenworth in July to help celebrate the Feast of our Lady of Mount Carmel as part of the 150th Jubilee celebrations at St. Joseph Church. Father Valentine Boyle, O.Carm., age 88, now resides in Phoenix; he was Associate Pastor 1960-1966 and then pastor from 1966-1975. Father Jordan Rooney, O.Carm., age 80, now resides in Niagara Falls , Ontario; he was the associate pastor 1973-1975, then pastor 1975-1984. He returned as associate pastor from 1992-1994, and was administrator of the parish from 1994-1995. Father Stephen Cooley, O.Carm., age 67, now resides in Encino, California. He was associate pastor 1968-1971, and was the religion teacher at Immaculata during that time. (8/08) Sister Rita Smith, SCL, and Sister Ann McGuire, SCL, celebrated their golden jubilees this summer. Sister Rita was Principal at Immaculata during the late 1990s, and Sister Ann served as Administrator for the Leavenworth Catholic Schools in the 1980s. (8/08) Shawn '74 and Sharon Viessman '74 Scanlon were the Grand Marshalls of the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Leavenworth on March 17th. (3/08) Theresa Holt '88 was named the 2008 Parishioner of the Year on March 15th at St. Joseph Church, Leavenworth KS. (3/08) Nancy Angello Berardo '90 was recently promoted to Financial Management Specialist at the Federal Bureau of Prisons, North Central Regional Office, Kansas City KS. She was in advertising for 12 years before going to the Bureau of Prisons. She and her husband, Benito, reside in Shawnee KS and are the parents of two daughters - Maria 4 and Anna 2. (3/08) Deanna Steinmetz '98 writes that she ran her first marathon on January 12th in Phoenix, finishing in 5 hrs 28 minutes. There were lots of photos, including one with "Elvis". She was running in support of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society with their Team-in-Training Program. Deanna currently resides in Converse TX. (2/08) Dick McGlinn '50 was one of 32 former Kansas University athletes inducted into the Kansas Athletics Hall of Fame at KU. The new members were recognized during halftime ceremonies of the men's basketball game on February 9th - KU vs. Baylor. (2/08) Jerry Reilly '62 was named the Leavenworth-Lansing Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year during the Chamber's annual banquet on January 23, 2008. In addition to his business activities, Jerry and his wife, the former Charla Larkin '63, have made a substantial commitment over the years to support local education. Jerry is a founding member of the Leavenworth Regional Catholic School Board and the Leavenworth Catholic Education Foundation. Jerry and Charla are the parents of three children - J.R. '85, Mike, and Katie '89. (1/08) Capt. Bob Hart '95, after graduating as Chief Resident from the Womack Army Medical Center Family Medicine Residency Program, is assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division as a Battalion Surgeon for the 505th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He recently returned home to Ft. Bragg NC from deployment in Iraq to reunite with his wife Kerryellen and daughter Catherine. (11/07) Sean Quinn '89, after residing in Hawaii the past 12 years, recently moved with his family to Sarasota FL where he has started his own consulting business. He has been married 12 years to his wife Becky; they have 3 children - Malia 7, Patrick 5 and Nicholas 2. (11/07) Thomas Bazemore '05, a Cadet at the US Military Academy in West Point NY, recently earned the Superintendent's Award for Achievements, as well as the Distinguished Cadet Award, presented to cadets earning a grade point average of 3.67 or higher. Fitzgerald '94 was one of four Lori Heintzelman '81, Broomfield CO, presented her Linguistic dissertation research at two academic conferences in Nov 2006 - at the International Gender and Language Association conference in Valencia, Spain, and at the American Anthropology Association annual meeting in San Jose, CA. (12/06) Kenneth Heintzelman Sr. '56 retired in July 2006 from his position of Fire Chief of the Kickapoo Township Volunteer Fire Department, Leavenworth County. Kenny was honored in September for his 24 years as chief during a retirement reception in his honor. He and his wife Peggy plan to move to Colorado following retirement from his "day job" at Great Western Mfg. Company in Leavenworth. They are the parents of Tammy '82 and Kenny Jr. '86. (10/06) Linda Haller '02 graduated cum laude from Loyola University in Chicago with a BS degree in psychology in May 2006. She was selected for participation in the Casa de la Solidaridad program as a facilitator and volunteer in El Salvador. She is working with American students studying at the University of Central America as well as working with members of the Salvadoran community. (10/06)
